Craig Winkelmann, DDS

Dr. Craig Winkelmann attended West Virginia University graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then completed a Master degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Harris Corporation as an engineer and project manager. He then worked at IBM Corporation as a Client Representative and Large Systems Marketing Representative.

Dr. Winkelmann left IBM to attend dental school at the University of Maryland. He completed his education graduating Magna Cum Laude. He earned several scholarships and academic achievements including being selected for Omicron Kappa Upsilon the National Dental Honorary. During his time in dental school, Dr. Winkelmann traveled to Arizona to provide care for elders of the Navajo Nation. Additionally, he was selected by the International College of Dentists to travel to Ireland for 30 days as an ambassador of goodwill and to observe how dentistry is delivered in Ireland.

After dental school, Dr. Winkelmann attended a two-year dental residency at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. There he was exposed to and mentored in advanced dental treatment. He is IV sedation trained and holds the Advanced Cardiac Life Support credentials.

Dr. Winkelmann is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and is a General Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has distinguished himself by earning Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. An accomplishment achieved by less than ten percent of all dentists. Additionally, Dr. Winkelmann has been selected as one of America’s Top Dentists by an independent review board on multiple occasions including 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and again in 2022.

In the field of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Winkelmann has earned the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.  Dr. Winkelmann enjoys this area of practice and its life-changing effects on his patients.

He lives in Cary with his son, who he adores, and one white cat named Buster. He has been and continues to be active in the Boy Scouts of America.  He served as a Bear and Webelows Den Leader in Pack 393 and is now an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 216.  Prior to Boy Scouts, Dr. Winkelmann volunteered with Civil Air Patrol and served as an Instructor Pilot and Chief Check Pilot.  He is also the founder of the Bandit Flight Team that can be seen at NCSU football game openings.  His hobbies and interested are muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, aviation and the outdoors.

Isaac Boota, DMD

Dr. Isaac Boota was born in Pakistan to a large loving family. He moved to the States with his family to Greenville, NC where he put down roots and has since called home. It was there that he married his high school sweetheart, Sarah, after completing his undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from East Carolina University.

Dr. Boota and Sarah have always worked as a team to support each other’s passions and goals. After graduating from university, he worked as a Quality Control Scientist at a pharmaceutical company for two years to support his wife as she completed her degree from ECU in Nursing. Sarah then began work and Dr. Boota returned to East Carolina University to obtain his Doctorate in Dental Medicine.

Upon graduation from dental school in 2021, the Bootas relocated to Raleigh, NC. They celebrated their 7 years of marriage this year and have their hands full with their 11-month-old baby girl, Willa Grace. Sarah is back in school completing her Master of Science in Nursing as Dr. Boota is working full time. In his free time, Dr. Boota enjoys taking continuing education courses, exercising, reading, participating in mission trips, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Boota is regularly developing his clinical skills with continuing education courses to best provide you with the highest level of dental care. Currently Dr. Boota is training with the Triangle Dental Institute to attain his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), the world’s largest implant organization. Dr. Boota is excited for the opportunity to practice at Wake Forest Dental Arts and looks forward to serving you and your family in caring for your dental health needs.
